Strips / Coils 304

Strips / Coils 304

304 strip and coil consist of 304 stainless steel, which is the most used of all the stainless steels. It is a highly corrosion resistant steel with numerous applications in industry. It is mainly produced in the shape of a coil or in the form of strip in order to use it in extensive applications.

What are coil / strips 304?

Grade 304 is one of the largest -scale stainless steels. Its high strength, corrosion resistance, and ease of handling ability presents it very common and usually in a coil or strip shape.

Type 304 stainless steel, then, is among the most common grades with capability for handling reasonably good strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and ease of fabrication.

  • Rust resistance: General purpose, Type 304 exhibits outstanding resistance to corrosion and thus ideally suited to kitchen, food processing plants, and exterior applications.
  • Strength and Toughness: This is tough and strong although not as strong as type 301 when hardened.
  • Easy to Bend & Form: It is easy to form and weld, well suited for the majority of purposes.
  • Magnetic Properties: Type 304 is nonmagnetic in the as-wrought state but will be slightly magnetic when cold worked.

Applications of Coils / Strips 304

904 stainless steel coil / strips are used in many industries, such as:

  • Cars & Vehicles: Used in making exhaust systems, trims, and trim components.
  • Building & Construction: Used in buildings, walls, and roofs exposed to chemicals or water.
  • Kitchen and Food Industry: Used in appliances, storage tanks, and sinks since it is safe to use around food.
  • Medical & Pharmaceutical: Used for cleanroom equipment and medical instrumentation.
  • Factories & Machines: Used in chemical processing equipment, tanks, and pipelines.

Chemical Composition of Coils / Strips 904:

Element Percentage
Chromium (Cr) 18.0-20.0
Nickel (Ni) 8.0-10.5
Carbon (C) ≤ 0.08
Manganese (Mn) ≤ 2.0
Silicon (Si) ≤ 1.0
Phosphorus (P) ≤ 0.045
Sulfur (S) ≤ 0.03
Iron (Fe) Balance

Conclusion Coils / Strips 304

304 stainless steel is a strong, versatile material because it is corrosion-resistant and easy to fabricate. The applications are vast, from automobiles to building construction, kitchen equipment, medical instruments, and industrial equipment. The Type 304 is one of the most common grades of steel permitted for worldwide use due to its various advantages.
